Big Finish Wine Tavern was born out of a simple idea to create an inclusive, inviting neighborhood gathering place where locals and visitors to San Francisco can relax while exploring an extensive by-the-glass wine list and savoring creative, yet uncomplicated food — all at a reasonable price. The tavern features more than 50 wines from around the globe, all available by-the-glass, and most of which are served on draft. The custom tap system allows for efficient service and provides exceptional quality and temperature control of the wine, helping to minimize waste. Big Finish also offers a bespoke selection of low-ABV cocktails, as well as craft beer, NA wine, locally made soda, and a full dinner menu.

Owner, Adam Manson, has spent the past 25 years managing and owning bars and restaurants. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Manson decided his focus would be on the front of the house, though he’s a prolific home chef who enjoys hosting dinner parties and holiday gatherings with family and friends from near and far.

He has worked in almost every corner of the industry: wine bars, dive bars, fine dining restaurants, boutique hotel food outlets, and cafes. He was born in Davenport, Iowa; grew up in Dallas, and went to college in College Station, Texas; spent time in the Hudson Valley of New York; lived in Washington, DC; and, has called San Francisco home for the last 11 years. He’s also had the good fortune to travel extensively, including to wine regions throughout Australia, Croatia, Italy, South Africa, Spain, and the United States.

The tavern’s opening team is comprised of a diverse group of individuals with varied experiences in the hospitality industry and in life. They are committed to fostering a welcoming, non-pretentious atmosphere for guests. Some team members are sommeliers and others are newer to the industry, but all are prepared to provide tasting notes and wine education for those guests who like that kind of thing.

Big Finish Wine Tavern is an ode to all of these experiences, and a place where guests can reminiscence about their own life experiences while making new friends over a glass (or many glasses) of wine. The Big Finish team hopes to see you soon. Cheers!
